New Job Opening: Post-doctoral resarcher in Computational Social Sciences (ERC Consolidator Grant)

Centre of Excellence in Social Sciences is seeking a full-time post-doctoral resarcher for the prestigious ERC Consolidator Grant project NEWSUSE, led by Prof. Magdalena Wojcieszak.

The project investigates citizens’ low news consumption online and designs computational tools to encourage engagement with high-quality news on social media.

Position Overview

• Project: NEWSUSE (Incentivising Citizen Exposure to Quality News Online)
• Duration: 24 months, starting 15 September 2026 (flexible, with potential extension)
• Salary: 14,975 zł gross per month, plus a 13th-month salary
• Core Tasks: Co-designing web experiments, working with NLP/LLMs, analyzing large datasets, and co-authoring papers for top journals.

Who Should Apply?

• We are looking for candidates with a PhD (or defense scheduled before start) in the Social Sciences, Computer Science, or Data Science. You should have strong quantitative research skills, proficiency in R or Python, and experience combining survey/experimental data with digital tracking data.
